All classes are taught by state certified teachers and assistants. The teachers at TSNS are certified professionals in their field. Our programs have formal curriculums and goals. There is still plenty of play and fun for your child, yet it is purposeful. In addition, there is no time commitment required from our parents to teach classes.
Mora Amy is a former elementary education and middle school math teacher. Her daughter is an alumni of TSNS and that is how Mora Amy first knew of our educational vision. In addition to being a veteran educator, Amy has worked and volunteered in a variety of child-centered settings throughout her adult life. Amy spent time managing and working in development for a few Boys and Girls Clubs in interior Alaska. She has also done liaison work for a community coalition in Omaha, Nebraska, working to prevent drug use among youth. She firmly believes children learn and grow best through engaging and rich play opportunities and practices this belief in her daily interactions with our students. Mora Amy has recently added the facility's program director role to her teaching duties, this school year. She is energized to work with the staff and synagogue board to continue to strengthen our existing programs and begin to expand educational and childcare opportunities for the communities we serve.
Mora Afrina grew up in New York and went to Brooklyn College for her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education and she continued on to earn a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
